The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and leaders from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda have officially launched the PAMOJA Oversight Committee to coordinate preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, marking a major step toward delivering the first-ever jointly hosted AFCON tournament.

The two sides have played 77 times, including in friendlies, since their initial meeting in the regional Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup, then known as Gossage Cup in 1926, with the tie ending in 1-1 draw.
