Chelsea are reportedly ready to beat Manchester City to the £100m signing of Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a big-money move away from his boyhood club this summer, having scored seven goals and created 12 more last season and been part of the England side that made it to the final of Euro 2020.

Man City were thought to be leading the race for Grealish, although Villa's £100m asking price has proven to be a sticking point for the Premier League champions.

Tuttomercatoweb claims that Chelsea are ready to capitalise on Man City's hesitancy by making a bid for the England international.

The report states that Chelsea's top priority this summer is a new striker, with the likes of Erling Braut Haaland, Romelu Lukaku and Robert Lewandowski among the names on their shortlist.

However, manager Thomas Tuchel also wants to bring a new midfielder to the European champions and has earmarked Grealish and Domenico Berardi as possible targets.

Grealish has spent his entire professional career with Aston Villa, scoring 32 goals and assisting 43 more in 213 appearances for the club.
