Gor Mahia Clash Against Mara Sugar Cancelled After Tribunal Order

Gor Mahia FC have confirmed that their FKF Premier League clash against Mara Sugar FC scheduled for Sunday in Homa Bay has been cancelled following an order issued by the Sports Disputes Tribunal.

According to the tribunal directions dated May 22, 2026, the hearing certified the matter as urgent and temporarily suspended FKF Premier League Match No. 293 between Mara Sugar and Gor Mahia.

The order restrains the match from taking place at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay pending the hearing and determination of the application filed before the tribunal.

In a statement reacting to the development, Gor Mahia apologised to supporters over the cancellation while maintaining confidence ahead of the fixture whenever it is eventually played.

As per the court order attached, tomorrow’s match against Mara Sugar in Homa Bay has been cancelled pending further direction from the Federation. We apologise to all fans,” the club said.

The club also added a strongly worded message directed at their opponents over the ongoing venue dispute.

Our focus remains unchanged. Opponents can play all the monkey games they want with the venue but one thing is certain, we are ready to beat them anywhere, anytime. Otoyo will still cry premium tears.”

The tribunal further directed all parties involved, including the respondents and interested parties, to file their responses before noon on May 25, 2026.

The matter is expected to be mentioned again on May 26, 2026, before the tribunal for further directions.
