Juventus were unlucky to hit the woodwork twice through Samuel Iling-Junior and Moise Kean in a goalless draw against Genoa, but their frustrations were compounded when Dusan Vlahovic was sent off for dissent.

Despite having Vlahovic back from suspension and Adrien Rabiot returning from injury on the bench, Juventus dropped to third place after securing just one point from two games. Arkadiusz Milik and Carlos Alcaraz suffered muscular problems, while Genoa was without Aaron Martin, Alan Matturro, and Stefano Sabelli due to injury and suspension, but handed Vitinha his first start.

The match saw Wojciech Szczesny forced into action early on, making a crucial save to deny Mattia Bani's header from an Albert Gudmundsson free kick. Federico Gatti posed a threat for Genoa with his efforts, but his shots were either saved or deflected wide.

Juventus had penalty appeals turned down, and their breakthrough seemed imminent when Samuel Iling-Junior's strike rattled the post, followed by Vlahovic's header narrowly missing the target. In the dying minutes, Moise Kean's powerful shot struck the woodwork again, leaving Juventus frustrated.

However, Vlahovic's frustrations boiled over when he was booked for dissent after a foul on the goalkeeper, and his protests led to a second yellow card, resulting in Juventus finishing the game with 10 men. The draw concluded with a scoreline of Juventus 0-0 Genoa, with Vlahovic's dismissal ensuring his absence in the next match against Lazio.
