Mara Sugar FC are through to the quarter-finals of the Mozzart Bet Cup after a commanding 2-0 win over Compel FC on Wednesday afternoon, thanks to a superb brace from Noah Jagongo.
The Round of 16 tie, played at 13:00 on May 21st, saw Jagongo open the scoring in the 22nd minute before doubling his tally in the 82nd minute to seal the victory. His clinical finishing proved the difference in a match dominated by Mara Sugar’s organized play and relentless attack.
Despite a promising start from Compel FC, including a missed opportunity by Joseph Okwenda in the 14th minute, they failed to capitalize and were ultimately undone by Mara Sugar’s composure and tactical substitutions at halftime.
Jagongo’s two goals not only lifted Mara Sugar to the next round but also cemented his status as one of the tournament’s standout performers so far.
With this win, Mara Sugar FC now prepare for a high-stakes quarter-final clash against Kenya Police FC, scheduled for this Sunday at Dandora Stadium.
