Celta Vigo claimed a hard-earned 1–0 victory away to Alavés, with Iago Aspas delivering the decisive moment from the penalty spot early in the second half.

The first 45 minutes produced little in terms of clear chances, both sides opting for caution as the match remained tight and tactical. Alaves struggled to break through Celta’s compact shape, while the visitors offered flashes of intent without troubling the goalkeeper.

The breakthrough arrived in the 55th minute when Aspas stepped up to take a penalty after a handball decision went Celta’s way. The veteran forward sent a composed left-footed strike into the bottom-left corner, giving the visitors a lead they would protect for the remainder of the match.

Alavés pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but Celta’s defensive discipline held firm as the clock wound down. With few clear openings and limited final-third creativity, the hosts couldn’t find a way through.

After six added minutes, the final whistle confirmed Celta Vigo’s valuable three points a result built on organization, experience, and the finishing instincts of their captain.
