Police FC continued their impressive defensive form with a narrow 1–0 win over Sofapaka at the Police Sacco Stadium, earning their second win of the season and a fourth consecutive clean sheet. The result underscores their growing solidity at the back and renewed confidence under coach Francis Baraza.
The decisive moment came in the 40th minute when Edward Omondi scored against his former side, Sofapaka, finishing off a well-worked move after sustained pressure from the hosts. The forward’s composed strike was enough to separate the sides in a tightly contested encounter.
Sofapaka had their moments early in the first half, threatening through Joseph Kuloba and Stanley Lugalia, but Police FC’s organized defense, led by captain Geoffrey Shiveka, stood firm. In the second half, the visitors pushed harder for an equalizer, but Police goalkeeper Job Ochieng remained largely untested thanks to disciplined defensive play.
Police made several tactical substitutions in the second half, introducing Brian Musa, Exaule Misuri, Albert Otieno, and Baraka Badi to maintain control and preserve the lead. Sofapaka, on the other hand, brought in Andrew Waswa, Satala, and Bramuel Simiyu as they searched for a breakthrough, but they couldn’t break down the Police backline.
Despite late pressure from Sofapaka and seven minutes of added time, Police FC held on to secure maximum points and another clean sheet — extending their streak to 360 minutes without conceding in the league.
The win marks Police’s second of the campaign and builds momentum as they continue to climb the table. For Sofapaka, the defeat on the road means they’ll need to regroup quickly ahead of their next fixture to bounce back from back-to-back winless outings.
Police FC’s resilience, defensive structure, and newfound confidence make them one of the hardest teams to beat early in the SportPesa Premier League season.
