Bayern Munich maintained their flawless start to the campaign with a gritty 2-1 victory over PSG in Paris. Luis Díaz scored twice before being sent off late in the first half, forcing Bayern to defend deep for much of the second period. Despite relentless PSG pressure and a late goal from João Neves, Vincent Kompany’s men held firm to claim their 16th straight win in all competitions.

Bayern Munich extended their 100% record this season to 16 matches after battling to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Luis Díaz was both hero and villain for the visitors, scoring twice before being shown a red card just before half-time.

The German champions made a flying start at the Parc des Princes. After just four minutes, Serge Gnabry’s clever backheel found Michael Olise, whose shot was saved by Lucas Chevalier only for Díaz to pounce on the rebound and slot home the opener.

Bayern continued to dominate and were rewarded again in the 32nd minute when Díaz punished a lapse from Marquinhos, stealing possession and firing low past Chevalier to make it 2-0. However, his evening took a dramatic turn when a reckless challenge on Achraf Hakimi saw his initial yellow card upgraded to a red following VAR review, leaving Bayern to play the entire second half with 10 men.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Bayern defended resiliently. PSG pressed relentlessly after the break, creating and forcing Manuel Neuer into a string of superb saves to deny Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, and Mayulu. Substitute Lee Kang-In provided a creative spark, delivering a pinpoint cross for João Neves to volley home and halve the deficit in the 74th minute.

The hosts poured forward in search of an equaliser, but Neuer stood tall once more, commanding his box and claiming Lee’s final cross deep into stoppage time.

The win sees Bayern leapfrog Arsenal to the top of the overall Champions League table, with Bayern, Arsenal, and Inter Milan the only teams still boasting perfect records this season. PSG, meanwhile, suffer their first European defeat and drop to third.
