AFC Leopards came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over Shabana FC at Gusii Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Despite falling behind early through an Alvin Odongo strike, second-half goals from Victor Omune and a late own goal turned the game around, giving Ingwe a valuable away win in the FKF Premier League.

AFC Leopards showed resilience and character to overturn a first-half deficit and edge Shabana FC 2-1 in an entertaining FKF Premier League clash at Gusii Stadium.

The hosts took the lead in the 10th minute when Alvin Odongo pounced on a loose ball from a set piece to beat Leopards goalkeeper Levis Opiyo. Shabana looked confident in front of their home fans, keeping Ingwe’s attackers quiet in the first half despite several close attempts from Boniface Munyendo and Kelly Madada.

After the break, AFC Leopards came out stronger, with coach Tomas Trucha introducing Victor Omune, Julius Masaba, and Sichenje to inject energy and pace into the game. The changes paid off in the 72nd minute when Masaba set up Omune, who tapped in the equalizer to restore hope for the visitors.

Ingwe’s persistence was rewarded late in the game as Shabana turned a James Kinyanjui corner into their own net in the 88th minute, handing Leopards a dramatic comeback victory. The visitors managed the closing minutes well, holding off Shabana’s late push to seal all three points.

The win lifts AFC Leopards’ spirits after a tough start to the season, while Shabana will rue missed chances after a promising first half.

Elsewhere, Tusker FC edged Kariobangi Sharks 2-1, and Kakamega Homeboyz came from behind to defeat APS Bomet by the same scoreline in other Wednesday fixtures.
