Bidco United continued their solid run of form with a 2-1 win over Ulinzi Stars in a tense Sportpesa League encounter played on Wednesday afternoon at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Having drawn 0-0 away to Mara Sugar in their previous fixture, Bidco came into the match looking to build momentum after a mixed start to the campaign. The visitors started cautiously but gradually took control in the second half, showing the composure and attacking intent that has defined their performances away from home this season.
After a goalless first half in which Ulinzi created the better chances, Bidco broke the deadlock in the 57th minute through Clinton Akite, who calmly finished after a defensive mix-up. Three minutes later, Thomas Wainaina doubled the lead with a clinical strike, giving the visitors a commanding advantage.
Ulinzi Stars, still reeling from the recent dismissal of head coach Danstan Nyaundo, pulled one back through a Boniface Muchiri penalty in the 75th minute but failed to find an equalizer despite late pressure.
Man of the Match honors went to Bidco substitute Victoria Kunyili, whose energetic cameo helped secure the win. The result means Bidco have now recorded three wins and a draw from their opening five matches, including impressive away victories over Gor Mahia (1–0) and Ulinzi Stars (2–1).
For Ulinzi Stars, the defeat extends their winless run and underscores the urgent need for stability following their managerial shake-up.
Bidco’s recent consistency has lifted them into the top half of the Sportpesa League standings, with their next focus being on maintaining momentum when they return home for their next fixture.
